The Lexus LFA (Lexus Fuji Apex) gets its roots from the Fuji Speedway in Japan.
History and Timeline of the LFA:
· Ideas of a Lexus super car began in 2000 (the same
year the FUJI Speedway was acquired by Toyota). Blueprints were drawn, and a physical
representation was made.
· In January of 2005, the LFA was shown to the public
at the International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit as a concept car, but not an official
confirmation of the vehicle.
· In May of 2005, the Chief Engineer scratched
completely the aluminum frame of the vehicle for a lighter and stronger Carbon
Fiber--possibly one of the most radical decisions in Automotive history due to
the fact the project was 5 years into the making.
· In October of 2009, the Lexus LFA was unveiled as a production car, and
applications were submitted to own one of the 500 LFAs that were to be made. And in January of 2011, the first LFA was finally delivered to Long
Beach, California. On December 14, 2012 the last of 500 LFAs was
produced.

· Engineers from Lexus worked
side by side with people in the Musical Department of Yamaha to deliver an
unmistakable sound for all to hear. The sound of the LFA is so incredible that it is

· In-dash Technology – the LFA revolutions per
minute are 0 to 9,000 in 0.6 seconds. So fast that a standard tachometer needle
would not be able to show the true accuracy of the LFA, so a digital needle was
incorporated with a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen. The LFA has a rear spoiler that when a certain
speed is attained, extends from out of the vehicle as to help with better
traction and increased speed.
